The Role of Nuclear Medicine in Determining Dialysate Leaks in Patients Undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis

  • Ms Maria Triantafillou, Department Nuclear Medicine, MMC, Southern Health, Australia
  • Leakage of dialysate in patients on Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) can pose as major complications. Dialysate leakages can be found in up to 5% of patients undergoing CAPD.
Nuclear Medicine can play a role in determing the site of the leak.
This poster will present two (2) cases, one demonstrating hydrothorax and the other scrotal oedema. It will show the role Nuclear Medicine has in the diagnosis and management of these patients.
